Part caravan park, part designer farm lodge, Old Mac Daddy oozes charm and countryside magic. Accommodation options range from the famed trailer units with artist-themed bedrooms to self-catering villas for large families or groups of friends and tented camps for that genuine glamping vibe. Kid and family-friendly activities abound and include mountain hikes, tractor rides, biking, archery, fully-equipped kids play areas and the famous Daddy’s Beach and Bar, where hammocks, cocktails and funtastic watersports await. Hungry? Old Mac Daddy’s Barn restaurant serves wholesome and delicious fare that’s fresh, free range and organic (where possible), catering for the whole family including vegans and children. The Barn is open daily from 8AM to 10PM and day visitors are welcome too.
Fully catered and serviced; Old Mac Daddy offers trailer units with artist-themed bedrooms and uber-contemporary living spaces as well as comfortable glamping style tented options and 2 self-catering units for larger extended families of groups of friends.
The Barn Restaurant and communal area is a slick but comfortable ‘’Scandi-meets-SA’’ space to take in the views, enjoy some good food and extensive local wine and craft beer list. The pool and deck is a sure winner on summer days – if you aren’t at the dam – and roaring fireplaces and a library keep it cosy in winter.
Guests can relax by the pool or go fishing at the lake. Bikes are available for rent, and a children’s indoor play area and outdoor playground can also be found on site. Activities such as aqua zorbing, archery and team building events can also be arranged.
